"Vessed az Úrra a te terhedet" (Zsolt 55,23).

Különbséget kell tennünk helyes és helytelen teherhordozás között. A bűnnek és kételynek a terhét sohasem kellene hordoznunk, de vannak terhek, amelyeket Isten helyezett ránk, amiket nem is szándékozik levenni rólunk; azt szeretné, ha azokat Őreá tennénk vissza. "Vessed az Úrra a te terhedet." Ha Istenért munkálkodunk és közben nem maradunk közösségben vele, a felelősség érzése nyomasztóan nehezedik ránk; de ha visszatesszük Istenre, amit Ő helyezett ránk, akkor leveszi a felelősségérzet súlyát azáltal, hogy nyilvánvalóvá teszi jelenlétét, hatalmát.

Isten sok munkatársa indult el a szolgálatba nagy bátorsággal és tiszta szándékkal, de Jézus Krisztussal nem volt bensőséges kapcsolatuk és csakhamar összeroppantak. Nem tudtak mit kezdeni a teherrel, belefáradtak a hordozásba; az emberek pedig azt mondják: "Milyen elkeserítő vég ilyen kezdet után".

"Vessed az Úrra a te terhedet." - Eddig magad hordoztad az egészet, tedd most nyugodtan Isten vállára az egyik végét. "Az uralom az Ő vállán lesz" (Ézs 9,6). Add át Istennek, amit rád helyezett; ne dobd el magadtól, hanem tedd Őrá saját magaddal együtt és a súly könnyűvé válik a közös hordozásban. De soha ne szakadj el a terhedtől!
